L’oscar London weddings are without a doubt some of the most chic and flamboyant of them all. Inside this 39-bedroom boutique hotel, the preserved baroque details and carefully crafted interiors by designer Jacques Garcia are outstanding. All the function spaces and bedrooms have been individually decorated to give them distinctive character, and an appointed butler has been assigned to each, so that guests can access to unprecedented levels of service at their beck and call. The staff will go out of their way to ensure that everyone has an unrivalled experience at your L’oscar London wedding.

The rich royal hues, custom velvet fringed furnishings and beguiling ornaments complement one another and create a bewitching bohemian ambience. Weddings can take place in three private function rooms, or the entire hotel can be exclusively hired if desired. On arrival, your guests will be blown away by the dramatic theatrical aura of L’oscar London. Beyond thick purple drapes, the entrance features decadent sculptures and hundreds of Lalique hummingbird lights along the halls.

To the left of the lobby, a welcome glass of champagne can be served from the illuminated onyx bar, inspired from the oldest restaurant in Venice. Upstairs, the back-lit bookshelves in the library form stunning backdrops to your ceremony, and larger groups can dance in the centre of the original Baptist chapel beneath its divine domed roof. One of a kind wedding parties and celebrations take place at L’oscar London; its an unforgettable setting to commit to one another.

Wedding Photo Opportunities at L’oscar London

L’oscar London’s alluring 19th century baroque building is one of the most photogenic wedding venues in Holborn, if not the entire city of London. The plush interiors have been handcrafted to create a variety of interesting Instagram worthy backdrops. The seductive master L’oscar Suite features a soaring mustard headboard that also forms the partition between the decadent marble en suite and sumptuous lounge area for bridal preparations. Its century old original fireplaces, decorative high ceilings and carved religious wall plaque make it an exquisite boudoir to capture the groomsmen or bridesmaids as they get ready ahead of the big day.

On route to the main wedding event spaces, a winding staircase connects the various floors. Its original wooden panels have been coated in a lush carpet runner and intricate hummingbird lights decorate the balustrade. Through the stairwell centre, a spellbinding seven storey chandelier is suspended, and the original stain glass windows bathe the steps with swathes of golden light. Along the hallways, gilded portraits or dazzling peacock feathers will catch and inspire a photographer’s eye at every turn. You won’t be lost for ideas in this alluring 19th century architectural masterpiece.

Beyond the regal red carpet entrance, there are a wealth of quintessential London landmarks to include in your wedding photography. What is totally unique about L’oscar London is the fact that this London wedding venue was once the Headquarters of the Baptist Church. Original elements of the religious institution still shine through its rich redesign and the relics serve as quirky reminders of its bygone era. The venue is fully licensed to host ceremonies, and the octagonal chapel at the heart of L’oscar London still feels as though you are marrying in the church itself. However, if you are keen to marry in a working place of worship then there is a huge variety within walking distance to explore. Just five minutes away, St George’s in Bloomsbury is the local parish church with a converted crypt that houses the museum of comedy. Closer still is the Church of St Anslem and St Cecilia, a Roman Catholic Grade II listed building with a superb atmosphere. Another option, accessible within a 7 minute walk, is the Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church with a heavenly rose carved window that illuminates the inner nave.
